about

Written by Jimmy Davis, James Sherman and Roger (“Ram”) Ramirez. Written for Billie Holiday released in 1944. A note on this track, I have always said emotion is the secret ingredient. Especially in these songs, always so full of "mood". As I was listening back to the tracks I realized I twisted up the lyrics into a different order. I felt it captured what I meant it to capture so I kept it anyway. When you record live, that's that, if you are staying true to the concept you either present it thorns and all or you scrap it. I chose not to scrap it. So I got the lyrics out of order and gave it a big SO WHAT because I dig the vibe, and Tim sounds fantastic. Meaning is exactly the same, just a little twisted up, like me, I think Billie would have been OK with it.
